CopperRiver30 Dinner at Blueacre Seafood
Wednesday, May 29th • 6:30pm
The Copper River 30 Dinner is now Sold Out.
30 years ago, seafood consultant, Jon Rowley, had an idea that would eventually earn him his nickname as the
King of Copper River Salmon.
Recognizing the potential of the Copper River gill net fishery where most of the salmon went into cans, Rowley launched an experiment with Alaska Airlines and a few fisherman to produce "troll quality" salmon by improving handling and temperature control.
In 1983, the first 400 pound trial shipment to Seattle restaurants would launch the Copper River oil-rich thoroughbreds into the foodie consciousness, creating a delicacy anticipated every spring by salmon connoisseurs all over the country.
Please join Jon Rowley and Blueacre Seafood for a special dinner to celebrate 30 years of the
return of the kings.
